Ms. Zalantis' Page

I teach chorus classes, guitar/ukulele classes and general music classes.
After graduating from Columbia University with a major in history, I studied Voice Performance at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.  I moved my focus from performance to education and earned a Master of Arts in Music Education from Hunter College.  I also hold Kodály Certification from New York University.  I taught at I.S. 145 from 2000-2006, took off several years from teaching full-time while my two children were young, and returned to I.S. 145 in 2015.  While on maternity leave, I worked part-time as a Kodály Musicianship Instructor with the National Children's Chorus.  I'm excited to have three sixth grade chorus classes this year and look forward to hearing them grow vocally and musically over the next three years.
