Dear Parents/Students:
District 30 and I.S.145 administrative team take seriously the potential impact of COVID-19 on our school community. The health and safety of our students are our top priority. To ensure instructional continuity, we have put in place a plan for learning from home and will continue to work on providing all students with the best possible education.
Staying Up to Date
To keep you up to date and in close communication with the school, please check your PupilPath account daily, ask your child to check their 145innovators account, and take a look at the Google Classroom set-up by your child’s teachers. In addition, we urge you to visit the staff information page on the DOE’s InfoHub website which has the latest news provided by the DOE.
Learning at Home
During this time, students will be sent home with non-digital tools (textbooks, workbooks, readers, as well as skills-based materials). Google Classroom, an online platform, will be used for your child’s remote learning. Although print and digital tools will be provided to your child, we are relying on Google Classroom as the main platform for learning. We expect that your child visits the page regularly to access materials and assignments as well as submit all assignments there as directed by their teacher.
Your child will have access to:
- Learning activities for the extent of our learning from home period
- Ongoing feedback on all assignments posted on Google Classroom throughout the duration of learning from home
- Grades posted on PupilPath throughout the duration of learning from home
- Continued communication between students and teachers via Google Classroom, PupilPath, and 145innovators email
What if my child does not have technology at home?
- Students will be accommodated with resources in print form if they do not have access to technology.
What kind of device can my child use to access learning materials?
- A desktop, laptop, or tablet is the preferred tool. However, all of their assignments can still be accessible via a smartphone
What apps/computer programs will my child need?
- A browser (Chrome is preferred)
- Google Drive
- Google Docs
- Google Slides
- Google Classroom

Where can my child find their assignments?
- On Google Classroom, your child’s teachers will communicate their expectations either on the Stream or on the Classwork section.
What do I do if my child does not know how to use the technology?
- Most of our students have been taught how to use the platforms we have mentioned here. We will also be sending home instructions that will help your child access the technology. They should ask their teachers for help if they are struggling.
How can I help my child with at-home learning?
- Be involved with your child’s online learning by keeping up to date with your child’s Google Classroom and PupilPath account
- Message school personnel through PupilPath
- Visit the DOE website for additional At-Home Learning materials
How do I manage my child’s time at home?
- While each child learns at their own pace, we are providing instruction that takes the place of a full day of learning for the duration of the learning at home period. If you have any concerns, please reach out to the teacher.

Dear Padres:
El equipo administrativo del Distrito 30 y la escuela I.S.145 toma en serio el impacto de COVID-19 en nuestra comunidad escolar. La salud y la seguridad de nuestros estudiantes son nuestra principal prioridad.
