Dual Language Program
Student Body:
Our student population is comprised of unique and diverse individuals who are motivated to achieve academic success and balanced bi-literacy. You will find them able to utilize both languages to express their thinking and reasoning in both English and Spanish. We instill in them a sense of pride in their linguistic ability and hope that they carry this with them in college and future careers.
Mission:
Our mission in the Global Academy at I.S 145 is to celebrate multiculturalism and bi-literacy. Instead of a subtractive mindset, we want students to be able to build on their literacy background and grow as bi-literate individuals. We understand that balanced bilinguals are assets to our global economy. Therefore, we provide students opportunities to engage in rigorous curriculum in both Spanish and English in preparation for college and career, and providing them with a global advantage.
